Contact Paper On Cabinet Doors

Contact paper is a self-adhesive paper that is available in a variety of colors, patterns, and textures. It is often used to cover shelves, drawers, and other surfaces in the home. Contact paper can also be used to update the look of cabinet doors. This is a relatively easy and inexpensive way to give your kitchen or bathroom a new look.

To apply contact paper to cabinet doors, you will need the following supplies:

  • Contact paper
  • Scissors
  • Utility knife
  • Ruler or measuring tape
  • Squeegee or credit card

Before you begin, clean the cabinet doors with a damp cloth to remove any dirt or dust. Allow the doors to dry completely.

Measure the cabinet doors and cut the contact paper to size. Leave a few inches of overlap on all sides.

Peel back a few inches of the backing paper from the contact paper and align it with the top of the cabinet door. Smooth out the contact paper with a squeegee or credit card, working from the center outward. Continue peeling back the backing paper and smoothing out the contact paper until the entire door is covered.

Trim any excess contact paper around the edges of the door with a utility knife.

Repeat the process for the remaining cabinet doors.

Here are a few tips for applying contact paper to cabinet doors:

  • Use a sharp utility knife to trim the contact paper. A dull knife can tear the paper.
  • Smooth out the contact paper with a squeegee or credit card to avoid wrinkles or bubbles.
  • If you make a mistake, you can peel back the contact paper and reposition it.
  • Contact paper is not heat-resistant, so do not place it near heat sources.

Contact paper is a versatile and affordable way to update the look of your cabinet doors. With a little time and effort, you can give your kitchen or bathroom a whole new look.
