How To Make A Wall Cabinet

Step 1: Gather your materials

- 1x4 pine boards for the cabinet frame
- 1x2 pine boards for the cabinet trim
- Wood glue
- 1 1/4-inch wood screws
- 2-inch wood screws
- Cabinet hinges
- Cabinet door knob or handle
- Paint or stain (optional)
Step 2: Cut the cabinet parts
Use a saw to cut the plywood and pine boards to the following dimensions:
- Cabinet box sides: two pieces, each 24 inches wide by 30 inches high
- Cabinet box top and bottom: two pieces, each 24 inches wide by 12 inches high
- Cabinet box back: one piece, 24 inches wide by 24 inches high
- Cabinet door: one piece, 24 inches wide by 15 inches high
- Cabinet frame front and back: two pieces, each 24 inches wide by 3 inches high
- Cabinet frame sides: two pieces, each 12 inches wide by 3 inches high
- Cabinet trim: four pieces, each 24 inches long by 1 inch wide
Step 3: Assemble the cabinet box
Apply wood glue to the edges of the cabinet box sides, top, bottom, and back. Assemble the cabinet box and secure it with 1 1/4-inch wood screws. Countersink the screws and fill the holes with wood filler.
Step 4: Attach the cabinet frame
Apply wood glue to the edges of the cabinet frame front and back. Attach the cabinet frame to the front and back of the cabinet box and secure it with 2-inch wood screws. Countersink the screws and fill the holes with wood filler.
Step 5: Attach the cabinet door
Apply wood glue to the edges of the cabinet door. Attach the cabinet door to the cabinet frame and secure it with cabinet hinges. Install a cabinet door knob or handle.
Step 6: Install the cabinet trim
Apply wood glue to the edges of the cabinet trim. Attach the cabinet trim to the front and sides of the cabinet and secure it with 1 1/4-inch wood screws. Countersink the screws and fill the holes with wood filler.
Step 7: Paint or stain the cabinet (optional)
If desired, paint or stain the cabinet to match your décor. Allow the paint or stain to dry completely.
Your wall cabinet is now complete! Hang it on the wall and enjoy the extra storage space.
